Danielle’s love of mountain biking was discovered while ski patrolling in New Brunswick. Her and her partner were both looking for a summer activity they could enjoy together and once they hopped on a pair of bikes–there was no looking back. Falling in love with the lifestyle, they moved out to the Rockies in 2018. Immediately, Danielle was amazed to see so many passionate female riders and was totally blown away by their strength. It was the inspiration these women provided that motivated her own improvement. She participated in Shred Sisters group rides, took some lessons, and was out riding every chance she had. This led her to seek out how she could get more involved, so naturally she set her sights towards teaching. She’s now taken her PMBIA certification and is ready to teach you to ride!

- Where do you call home?
I live in Canmore
- What’s the best thing about mtb for you?
It gets me outside and away from the screens. It gets me moving/exercising regularly and socializing with other folks who share the same passion. Its so much more motivating to ride my bike than go to the gym.

- What’s unique about your coaching style?
I started riding a mountain bike at 39 years old (in my late 30’s) and therefore I understand the challenges that come with that. I believe in celebrating each achievement, big and small as they all add up quickly. A little adds up to a lot over time.Â
- What makes you, you? What’s your best quirk? Fun Fact about you or story?
I’ve done life differently. I started by doing my PhD in the University of Life by traveling around Europe and North America in my 20’s. Went home to NB in my 30’s to try to find/have a normal life by buying a house and a car… then left again once I turned 40. I love adventure which inspire so much learning of new things and the beautiful people everywhere I go.Â

- Favourite trail?
I do enjoy the familiarity of FYI, EKG, Odyssey at the Nordic Center as I remember how challenging it was when I first moved to town. Feeling my comfort levels increase has been so fun and seeing my skills improve to hit features differently is so exciting!Â
- Dream destination?
There are sooo many destinations that I want to travel to… Since getting into Mountain Biking, I’m really looking forward to doing a different style of traveling – with my bike, explore cool locations from a whole new perspective and places that I see on the YouTube videos.Â

- What do you want your students to gain from your coaching/teaching?
I’m hoping my students will feel the passion and excitement that comes with owning your skills and getting dirty.
- What has been the most valuable piece of advice you’ve been given or received in mountain biking or any other sport?
We can do anything we put our minds to; we’ve just got to be open to being a student and learning something new.
