Eight years ago, Lynsey Dobish joined an adventure race team and bought her first mountain bike. “I still remember my first experience on single track during a weekend training session with a brand new bike and a pack filled with camping gear. I was terrified and ended up wiping out on almost every corner, bump and hill. I was so frustrated for not being able to keep up with the group and by how difficult biking was that I am surprised I got back on my bike after that trip”, tells Lynsey.
A year later, a friend supported her through the sharp learning curves of mountain bike and introduced her to other female riders. This is when the magic happened and she fell in love with the sport. So, the fact is that she not just went back to her bike but also became an instructor!
“I wouldn’t have carried on with riding without the support of a rad group of gals and it is my hope that Shred Sisters can provide this support to other women”, explains Lynsey, and adds “the fact that I attended bike camps really helped me build my confidence and skills on my bike and allowed me to have more fun. I became a coach to help other females discover their passion for riding.
Lynsey enjoys the social aspect and outdoor adventures that come with mountain biking. When she gets on her bike she loves riding big alpine climbs, technical features and high-speed descents. Her personal goal for the season is to have as much fun as possible riding bikes.
As a coach, Lynsey enjoys working with riders who scared or nervous about trying new things because she has had to overcome these feelings herself. Lynsey is always pushing to improve her own skills and feels that she has a lot to share as a coach. Lynsey is also an occupational therapist and she is currently studying osteopathy.
Lynsey really look forward to help you get over your fear and get you as stoke as she is to ride your bike!
Testimonial: I’m so glad i took the course. It has improved my skills exponentially and was a great way to meet other riders. The coach Lynsey was superb at breaking things down and very encouraging. I love how Shred Sisters empower women to ride with confidence and have fun on the trail.
