Jessica is a yoga + mountain bike instructor who loves adventure and having fun. She first started mountain biking as a wee child about 8 years old because her rad mother was (and still is) obsessed with the sport. After a couple years of riding, Jess decided to focus more on other sports, namely soccer, and it wasn’t until she moved to Golden, BC in 2009 that she picked the sport up again.
Now, she’s also obsessed with mountain biking and always looking for ways to improve her riding. In college, Jessica studied Adventure Tourism Business Operations where she learned a lot about guiding and leading people in the wilderness. Jessica loved this course because she learned to be really comfortable in nature. She learned a lot about how to take recreate safely in the mountains. She also received her 200 hour YTT course in Goa, India in March 2011 and has been teaching yoga ever since.
Jessica loves helping people let go of their fears through mountain biking and yoga. The mantra she personally uses when she’s scared is to repeat “I’m a bad bitch” over and over until she believes in herself. Since having great success with this mantra herself, she has shared it with many others who also love the idea of it. Jessica loves empowering other people by allowing them to believe in themselves.
“The biggest obstacle we face is always in our mind. We create limiting self beliefs and fears that inhibit our progress, but really, you can do anything you want to,” says Jess. Her motto is to always have fun and never take things too seriously. That way, you’re always happy.
