Beginner Without Experience:
Who this is for
You’re new to singletrack mountain biking and excited to learn in a supportive, confidence-building environment. You’re comfortable riding on road, gravel, or packed dirt doubletrack and ready to progress to singletrack.
What you’re working on
Fundamental mountain bike skills, balance, braking, cornering, and trail awareness while riding mostly singletrack terrain.
Prerequisites
- Comfortable riding doubletrack gravel trails
- Expect to ride singletrack approximately 90% of the time

Beginner-friendly green trails such as Quarry Lake (Canmore), Fish Creek and Bowmont (Calgary), Adaptive Descent, Scalli Mag & Moonraker (Golden), Let’s It Flow, Filler Up, Arch Potential & The Johnson (Invermere), Lois Creek, Nuts & Volts, Happy Haus, and Home Run, Electric Ave (Kimberley/Cranbrook), Miller Time, and Dusty Beaver (Revelstoke)
Courses options:
Intro to Mountain Bike: Choose between our 3-hour or full-day options—a perfect introduction for those with limited time in their schedule, looking for a sample, or feeling a bit nervous. This program offers a great way to experience the sport and gain basic skills to tackle green trails.
Weekly Series: Join our 4-week series, where each session builds on the previous ones, offering a great way to gain confidence on various terrains in your area. For the optimal experience, we recommend attending all classes in this course. Participants will be riding Green & Easy Blue trails

Beginner With Experience:
Who this is for
You’ve started riding singletrack and are gaining confidence. You’re comfortable on smooth green trails and easy blue trails but want to improve efficiency and control.
What you’re working on
Climbing and descending technique, braking, shifting, cornering, and navigating small trail obstacles safely.
Prerequisites
- Comfortable on all green trails
- Confident on some blue trails

Weekend Workshops: Our workshop is an ideal way to quickly build skills, explore new areas, and connect with mountain bikers from all over. The course begins with skill development in an open field, followed by on-trail practices. Choose from a 2-day workshop, two consecutive Saturdays, or a one-day course.
Please note that our 2-day program may be physically demanding. If you tend to get tired easily, we recommend considering our one-day or weekly course options.
